The vibrant colors highlight the dynamic struggle: healthy cells working tirelessly to defend the body, while invasive viruses attempt to spread and take over. The interconnected structures represent how diseases can rapidly multiply and disrupt the body’s natural balance, turning the fight for health into a war at the cellular level.
At SSAAMC, we recognize that battling disease is not just a medical challenge—it’s a relentless war that demands strength, resilience, and unity. Our Causes
Here, we have compiled verified campaigns that need support to assist those affected by MBL disease in the UK. These campaigns focus on providing essential supplies to the most vulnerable and offering help to those in desperate need, including refugees. Millions of people are currently facing a critical humanitarian crisis and require immediate assistance.
Mannose-binding lectin (MBL) deficiency is a condition that impacts the immune system by lowering the levels of a key protein called mannose-binding lectin. This protein plays an essential role in recognizing and fighting off infections. MBL deficiency is relatively common, affecting approximately 5–30 out of every 100 individuals. Those with this condition are more susceptible to infections, as their immune system has a harder time detecting harmful pathogens.
For parents, explaining a diagnosis of Primary Immunodeficiency (PID), such as MBL deficiency, to their child can be a very challenging and emotionally difficult experience. The uncertainty and fear that come with the condition often add stress, but research has shown that understanding and support can make a significant difference. Awareness of the condition and access to medical resources can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life, offering hope for better outcomes.
Our campaigns aim to provide support for families dealing with MBL deficiency, helping to raise awareness, fund research, and ensure that children with the condition receive the necessary care and resources to lead healthier lives. We are also working to provide immediate assistance to those struggling with limited access to healthcare and vital supplies, ensuring that everyone affected by this condition gets the support they deserve…..Read More
